Friday's Furni Files: Toys

º A sudden surge of static electricity crackles through the screen as the letters S-T-A-R-C-A-L-L-E-R are scorched onto the page by a bolt of pure energy. With a blinding flash of golden ink, the marks dissolve, and Starcaller materializes with a sharp grin, pulling up a chair to take over the typing. º

Welcome back to The Furni Files, the ultimate cross-examination of the pixelated treasures we love to hoard. Today, we’re opening the archives for Toys, a guest whose absolute favourite item blends dark atmospheric design, childhood nostalgia, and a touch of spooky hotel history.

First, let's talk about his prize piece: the Gothic Ectoplasm Fountain. Originally hitting the hotel back in 2007 as part of the Monsters of Habbo campaign on Habbo.co.uk, this haunting piece of wall decor sat in the Catalogue for just 24 brief hours. Famous for its deep 3D-esque perspective, glowing blue liquid, and animated flow, it’s a spooky classic that stands out as one of the most distinctive wall rares in hotel history.

Let's see what Toys has to say about his beloved wall centerpiece:

What's your favourite furni in Habbo Origins?

"The Gothic Ectoplasm Fountain."

If it was deleted from the game tomorrow, what would your grieving process look like?

"It would feel like moving out of a house, having to take down all your picture frames and paintings off the wall, only to paint everything plain white again. Total emptiness."

What's the origin story of your love for it? Did you trade your soul for it back in 2005, or did you win it in a falling furni game?

"I never actually owned the blue version on the Brazilian hotel where I used to play, though the red one was the very first rare I ever bought straight out of the Catalogue! I remember being so thrilled to spend that many credits on a single piece of furni, and I ended up slapping it into every single new room I built. Just look at the design; it has actual depth, a unique vertical build, and it's animated! So when I had the opportunity to grab the blue version again on Origins, I was completely hypnotized."

If you could scale it up to real life and put it in your real-life bedroom, how chaotic or amazing would it be?

"Look, I’d honestly feel a bit bad for my neighbor in the flat next door, but I’d definitely smash a massive hole straight through our joining wall just so I had enough space to fit this amazing fountain!"

Does it have a specific memory attached to it?

"I distinctly remember messing around with it in Microsoft Paint back in the day and recolouring the liquid to purple! I never really gave much thought to what the purple stuff actually was, but it looked incredibly cool."

If you were down to your last 5 credits, would you sell this item to survive, or go completely broke holding onto it?

"Oh, I’d hold onto it and survive off the water (yes, it's definitely water...) that the fountain provides."

If it could talk, what’s the juiciest piece of Habbo drama or gossip it has witnessed in your rooms?

"It would definitely never mention that one time when I absolutely DIDN'T eat rotten fesh from those market machines... and I definitely didn't throw up into the fountain's liquid."

What’s a piece of advice you’d give to a newer Origins player who is trying to hunt down their own dream furni?

"Focus on building up a solid furni collection by taking part in games, community events, and giveaways. You’ll naturally start making trades along the way. Build a nice room and actively visualize how the furni you want would look inside it. Sell off what you’re not using for Habloons, but don't be afraid to give discounts, it's always better to take 1 or 2 Habloons under market value than to make no sale at all. Once you have enough coins, just keep your eyes peeled for good opportunities."

Anything else you'd like to say to the readers?

"I honestly think wall furni is super underutilized because regular furniture and massive stacks end up covering most of the walls anyway. But there is so much untapped potential now, especially since we can expand our walls using the Advanced Furni tool!"
