POLLING IS OPEN: Functional Furni

Over the past few weeks, many players will have encountered Functional Furni in action through Event Creator games across the hotel.

From puzzle rooms to race challenges, these pieces of furni have powered some of the most creative and chaotic events in Origins so far.

Now the question is simple:

Should functional furni be introduced permanently into the game?

A community vote is now live, and Habbos can cast their vote by visiting the Infobus Park before 16th March.

As with all InfoBus polls, only members of Habbo Club are eligible to vote, so make sure your membership is active if you'd like your voice heard.

Reflecting on Recent Events

If you've participated in EC games recently, you may have already experienced Functional Furni. And so now the question votes may want to ask themselves is:

- Did those games feel more creative?
- More interesting?
- More dynamic?

If the answer is yes, then it's worth considering what might happen if these tools were placed into the hands of the entire community!

If there's one thing we know for certain - Habbos are remarkably creative and surprising each other with good ideas. The options here are potentially endless.

What exactly is Functional Furni?

For anyone still catching up, we previously published a full breakdown of the items involved. Read out full overview here.

To address one of the top concerns: Functional Furni is NOT Wired.

Unlike Wired systems on Habbo.com, these items are intentionally simple. They behave much like classic Habbo items:

- A lever opens a door
- A key activates a lock

They do exactly what they say on the tin - no scripting, no automation chains, no complex programming.

In many ways, they feel closer to existing mechanics like rollers, teleporters and one-way gates than to advanced systems found on modern Habbo.

Why is this being polled?

Some players are questioning why this is even being voted on at all. Our resident Museum Curator skeffridge summed up the confusion nicely, asking:

"DOES ANYONE EVEN KNOW WHY THIS IS BEING POLLED?"

From one perspective, Functional Furni seems like an obvious addition. The recent EC games have shown clear potential and icnreased engagement - and many players are excited to get their hands on the furnis and create their own games.

But Habbo Origins has always positioned itself as a community-drive project, where majory gameplay additions are generally shaped by player feedback.

Voting is meant to give players a chance to say in what direction the hotel moves.

That said, the process hasn't always been perfectly consistent. Some quality-of-life improvements have been added with no poll, while others have gone through the InfoBus.

Regardless, this vote is now in the hands of the community.

A Divided Opinion

While early reactions have generally been positive, not everyone is convinced.

Some players have voiced concerns that introducing Functional Furni moves Origins too far away from its classic routes.

One player wrote:

However, this comparison may be misleading.

Functional Furni is not wired and doesn't attempt to replicate it.

Instead, it follows the same design philosophy as classic Habbo mechanics - simple furniture that performs one clear action.

A fridge gives a drink.
A door opens.
A dice rolls a number.

Nothing more.

Nothing less.

The Bigger Picture

Ultimately, the poll isn't just about furniture.

It's about what kind of creativity the community wants to encourage moving forward.

If you'd like to take part in the decision - head to the InfoBus Park and submit your vote before the poll closes.

And if you feel like sharing - let us know in the comments how you'll be voting. We'd love to hear from you!
