Another month down!
And it’s a sad one! The end of summer looms as we swiftly move into autumn… or fall, wherever you are from. Here we are, with another review from the month of August in Habbo Origins.
As always, my comments are always constructive, never meant to bash the game or any individuals involved within the game but purely what I experience plus what I hear from the community.
Lets get into it!

We're now one month into Noco's two-month trial, introducing Habloons alongside rares in an attempt to make his trades more accessible. Community feedback has been almost perfectly split at 50/50, and with one visit remaining, I expect we'll eventually see Noco's future put to an Infobus poll.
For me though, I think the bigger problem is Noco himself.
The joy of Noco has left the Hotel. What once created excitement around old rares now seems to generate more anger, speculation and arguments than actual fun. The Habloon experiment addresses accessibility, but it doesn't really solve that underlying problem.
Personally, I'd retire Noco for now and take the concept back to the drawing board. That doesn't mean getting rid of him forever – rework what Noco is supposed to bring to Origins and eventually bring him back in a way that makes seeing that man arrive exciting again.
Below, is what he brought this month. It saddens me as, the HC blue dye was offered… a total miss.

I think many Habbos were pleased to see Summer Furni FINALLY arriving in Habbo Origins! Alongside this, we were introduced to a brand-new community challenge and, of course, the Slushee Machine.

What I found particularly interesting was the introduction of Glukko, a new company providing goods within Origins. It leaves me wondering whether this is the start of something bigger. Will we see more furni and products released under the Glukko brand, perhaps filling the gap left by brands we once knew, or will Glukko simply disappear and never be mentioned again?
Hopefully not, because there's definitely potential here.
Later in the month, we seen additions (WELCOMED) of new sand colours and the tiki sand!
A really lovely line overall (despite the deck chairs not having full rotations) but we move. Another pleasant surprise was we now have an addition to functional furni with the puzzle box!

Wings have been really well received by the community, and personally, I really like this addition.
It's a simple feature, but one that makes a lot of sense for Origins. Being able to group connected rooms together is perfect for mazes, events, larger builds and community projects, while Public Wings make exploring them much easier.
It's also been good to see improvements already being made following the initial release, particularly around contributors and finding Public Wings in the Navigator.
For me, Wings feels like one of those features that Origins should continue building upon – useful, community-focused and something that genuinely adds to the Hotel.

I will always welcome at least one competition in Origins, although I genuinely feel we should be aiming for two each month. Thus far, we've had room competition after room competition. Listen, I'll never complain about having a room building competition, but it would be good to have something else alongside it to encourage a different type of creativity.
I appreciate resources are clearly stretched at the moment, but my stance remains the same: two competitions a month. One room building competition and something different – pixel art, a hand-made creation, or even something completely new.
That said, the brief for this month's competition was absolutely fine. My only gripe is the badge. Reusing last year's badge, again without the year, just isn't particularly exciting. Competitions should feel like an event, and having something unique to show you took part – or won – is part of that instead of a recycled badge.

Firstly, props to Wilf for organising Community Day: Fansite Edition. I think one thing all of the participating fansites could agree on is that we were extremely pleased to finally be given a platform to come together and showcase what we actually bring to Origins.
Fansites provide a huge amount of resource to the community, often without much attention being paid to the work happening behind the scenes. From articles, games and rare values to Habbowood, HabboHomes, Imager, online statistics, gardening and fishing stats, DJs and giveaways – every fansite brings its own flavour and helps unite different parts of the Origins community.
Community Day was a really positive step in the right direction, and I genuinely hope it isn't a one-off. I'd love to see Origins pay a little more attention to its fansites going forward and recognise the value these communities bring to the Hotel.
More of this, please!

I'm never going to bash our Event Creators – they're volunteers giving up their own time to provide something for the community, and that should always be appreciated. It's also summer, and people are out enjoying themselves as they should be! Nobody is required to be constantly online.
That said, there has admittedly been a bit of a lull in EC activity recently. It could simply be seasonal, and hopefully things naturally pick back up as we move out of summer.
If not, perhaps it's time to add a few more Event Creators to the team. The burden on the current team must already be quite heavy and expanding it could ease some of that pressure while creating a healthier flow of events throughout the week.
It's not a criticism of those already doing it – quite the opposite. It's about giving them a little more support and weeks don’t look as thin.
However, I still maintain this is much better than what we had before.

Week 1- Arctic Glukko Pop – Released 04/08/2026 – 50 Credits (No promo image)
I loveeeeeeeeee these machines

Week 2 – Wildflower Patch – Released 11/08/2026 – 35 Credits (No promo image)
I think I hate this patch the most, it’s just boring. Not for me.

Week 3 – Sand Dragon – Released 18/08/2026 – 50 credits (No promo image)
I love it. I love it even more that it spits fire properly now. I also love the price point.

Week 4 – Yellow Powered Fan – Released 25/08/2026 – 50 credits (Yay a promo image)
Meh. I don’t care for fans but I know people do love them!

Week 1 - Habburger’s Grill – Released 07/08/2026 – 10 credits
Love this one! Sad we never got habburgers ☹

Week 2 – Colourful Summer Pool – Released 14/08/2026 - 5 credits
I like this more than the other pools in the range.

Week 3 – Sand Seat – Released 21/08/2026 – 4 credits
Yeah, I’m just not inspired by this. It’s boring.

Week 4 – Hot Duck – Released 28/08/2026 – 3 credits
Hilariousssssssssssssssssssss. I love it.

A quick congratulations to Spidercides, who has officially reached his 100th Event Creator game – certainly an achievement worth recognising.
To mark the occasion, he's launching The Lost Relic, with prizes up for grabs and a special commemorative badge for those who complete the maze. I have to say, the badge is a nice touch and a fitting way to recognise the milestone.
Reaching 100 events takes a fair amount of time, effort and commitment, so congratulations Spidercides!

Articles have been pretty lacklustre this month. If you remove those written by Event Creators or posts that are simply schedules, we're left with a grand total of ten actual Origins articles across the entire month.
For me, that's just not enough. Articles are one of the easiest ways to keep the Hotel feeling active and give players a reason to check in. We're missing opportunities to promote rare releases, Funky Fridays, upcoming content and generally create a bit of excitement around what's happening in Origins.
Not every article needs to announce something huge, but right now it feels very quiet. Origins need to do a better job of actually selling what's happening in the game rather than simply letting things appear.

Or at least... fishing from a sand-hole.
I'm writing this before the update actually lands, so I'm not entirely sure what we're getting here. Does the sand-hole simply give us a new place to fish from? Are we getting new fishing furni? Maybe some new summer-themed fish? What we do know is that the sand-hole itself is coming.
And actually, I quite like the idea.
My issue is the timing. If this had arrived early-to-mid August alongside the rest of the Summer Furni, I'd probably be much more excited about it. Instead, it's arriving with three days of August left, just as we're about to leave the beaches and sandy rooms behind and move onto whatever comes next.
It feels like something that should have been part of the wider summer rollout rather than appearing right at the very end of it.
Maybe the update itself will surprise me and there'll be more to it than I'm expecting, I hope so! But right now my reaction is unfortunately a bit of a shrug.
Another month in Origins comes to an end, and I think August has been a bit of a mixed bag.
There have been some genuinely great additions this month. Wings is probably my standout feature, Summer Furni was long overdue and very welcome, Community Day was a fantastic celebration of what makes Origins special and seeing Glukko introduced as a new in-game brand leaves plenty of room for future possibilities.
At the same time, there are areas I'd really like to see improve. Noco still feels like a feature in need of a rethink, competitions could benefit from a little more variety, and I'd love to see more regular articles helping promote everything happening throughout the Hotel.

Overall score: 5.2
As always, these reviews come from a place of wanting Origins to be the best version of itself. I'll always celebrate the good, point out where I think things could be better, and hopefully spark a bit of healthy discussion along the way. Unfortunately, August didn’t have much substance to it.
We know theres obviously a lot of work being put into keystone right now and that may be the rationale behind what seems a little bit of a lul in the game, which I can accept. However objectively, I need to look at the month in general without considering keystone.
Here's to September... and Habboween being just around the corner.
