DUBBY REVIEWS IT! February 2026

Welcome everyone!

February has flown by, the dark nights are finally fading, and with that comes the end of the February campaign on Habbo Origins. That means it’s time to dive into the review! Be sure to share your thoughts once you’ve read through it. As always, I try and keep these reviews as respectful as I can, honest to what I believe and what I see within the game while maintaining my honest perspective.

SUPERLOVE GALA 2026

What a fantastic way to kick off the campaign. The evening events hosted by the EC gave players a fun, interactive start and a real chance to get involved, with opportunities to win Jade Boxes and EC tokens throughout the night. It immediately set a positive tone and encouraged players to participate rather than simply observe.

Even better was the introduction of SUPERLOVE as the face of the campaign. This was a brilliant touch. While we all know it’s one of the EC members behind the avatar, having a recognisable “face” gave the campaign more personality, charm, and identity. It made everything feel more connected and alive. More of this, please.

Of course, not every campaign needs a mascot, and that’s completely understandable. But when the theme and concept allow for it, leaning into this kind of character-driven approach really works, and this campaign is proof of that.

SUPERLOVE ANGELS RETURN


I genuinely liked the return of this event and the way it was handled overall. Bringing it back was a great move, especially for players who weren’t around last year and missed the opportunity to earn the badge. It gave newer and returning players a fair chance to take part in the Love Season and feel included, which is always a positive for the wider community.

That said, this does raise a growing concern around “seasonal” badges. While it’s understandable to reintroduce content for accessibility reasons, it does begin to blur the meaning and value of these limited-time badge rewards. Seasonal badges have traditionally felt special because they represented a specific moment in time. When events and badges are reissued, or updated, such as Christmas badges now reflecting 2026 then it can make those earlier versions feel less meaningful.

Overall, the intention behind the return is appreciated and largely successful, but it may be worth reconsidering how seasonal content is reused in the future. Finding a balance between inclusivity for newer players and preserving the uniqueness of time-specific rewards should be key moving forward.

Honestly, I didn’t mind the Funky Fridays this month at all. They were perfectly fine in my eyes, and I don’t recall seeing much in the way of complaints from the community either. In fact, some of the items, especially the rugs were a big hit and seemed to be well received overall.

The basket of hearts was a cute addition and fit the theme nicely, although it didn’t steal the spotlight for me. As far as baskets go, it still can’t compete with the basket of mini dragon eggs, which remains unmatched.

Once again, the Catalogue Rares this month were… fine, I suppose. The only item that really stood out to me was the Valentine’s cauldron. I’ve never been a big fan of oriental screens, marquees, or pillars, but with Habbo, it’s something you come to accept—those colour variations must be released at some point.

Not every week is going to be a home run, and that’s okay. What doesn’t appeal to me might be exactly what someone else has been waiting for, and there’s nothing wrong with that at all.

Market stalls – QOL updates

With Market stalls launching right at the tail end of January, it was good to see quality-of-life improvements for the system rolled out shortly after. Being able to more easily track what you’ve purchased within your personal market was a welcome addition and made the feature feel more polished.

That said, for such a significant change to Habbo’s trading ecosystem, it really should have been announced at least a week in advance rather than dropped as a surprise. Trading has arguably made the hotel feel more alive than anything else in the game right now, which is why it’s important to highlight just how much of a missed opportunity this was.

A feature of this scale deserved proper build-up and hype. Delivering it with minimal promotion felt like a ball drop, especially considering how positively it’s impacted player engagement since its release.

Noco visit!

Noco’s arrival in the hotel definitely created a buzz for the day, and it was nice to see genuine activity sparked around the hotel as a result. It also felt good to see Market Stalls being put to proper use, especially for players who actually engage with the NPC system, rather than endlessly consoling others in search of trades.

I typically never have much to say about Noco because I simply, will not use the NPC bot. Make your comments below though! 😊 ps. Puke Dragon was the best out the bunch here.

LOVE Furniture launches

While this technically launched in January, I did appreciate the addition of the Love section to the catalogue. However, it was a little disappointing to see it released without the recoloured sofas being made available. Thankfully, the red rug did make an appearance, but the absence of the sofas alongside it felt like a missed opportunity.

Given that these sofas were used prominently in the Valentine’s promotion, alongside the Romantique range, it would have been reasonable to expect them to return as well, offering players a bit more variety when decorating. Unfortunately, that never happened.

For users who missed out previously, having the option to purchase these items directly from the catalogue would have been far preferable to being forced into paying inflated market prices. Overall, it felt like a small but noticeable gap in what was otherwise a well-themed section.

OFFICIAL COMPETITIONS

 

I’ve got quite a bit to say when it comes to this month’s competitions, so let’s get into it. First of all, thank you for finally introducing some variety. Launching two competitions at the same time was a welcome change, especially after several months where the official competition format felt limited to build comps only. That shift alone deserves recognition.

That said… these competitions were far from perfect, and there are some very obvious issues that need to be addressed.

SUPERLOVE video competition

Overall, this was genuinely fun. The top ten featured a strong and varied selection of videos (and no, I’m not just saying that because I placed within that bracket). The prizes for the top three couples felt fair, although I do question why the badges weren’t extended to the entire top ten, personally, that’s a gripe I have with this side of the competition.

One positive worth highlighting is how quickly the results were published after the competition wrapped up. That turnaround was refreshing to see and should really be the standard moving forward.

SUPERLOVE Building competition

And then… just like that, it felt like we were back in August 2024, complete with low-effort results articles. The competition closed on the 8th of February, yet results weren’t released until the 24th, just over two weeks later. Quite frankly, that’s a bit naff, especially for a community that actively engages and invests time (and money) into these entries.

Even more frustrating was how the results were presented. Only the top five winners were showcased, and the rest were seemingly discarded as if they didn’t matter. This is exactly the kind of thing that frustrates players. People want transparency. They want to feel confident that judging was fair, particularly when hours of effort and personal funds go into these builds. So, showcase the entirety of the top twenty because it looks like the other entries are being hidden for a reason.

When I saw the article, I genuinely believe the entirety of Scotland heard my eyes roll to the back of my head. We’ve come so far with competitions, yet somehow, we’ve regressed back to this.

I don’t want to disrespect any of the individuals who placed, this criticism is not directed at them but in my honest opinion, it felt like the judging didn’t fully follow the brief for several entries. It came across as though names were pulled from a hat rather than assessed against the criteria. Whoever judged this competition really dropped the ball. Do better, as it’s quite frankly just disrespectful to your players and this is what makes people walk away from the game.

This isn’t just the voice of Dublyu either. The reaction across the Discord server echoed many of the same concerns, and that’s worth noting. In recent months, competition result releases have generally been met with far calmer and acceptance than in the past, which makes this response stand out even more.

It might feel like I’m going on a bit here, but while we did have two competitions this month, we also had Chinese New Year with the Asia/Sheji release, and that received no additional attention beyond the initial furni launch. No competition, no creative engagement, nothing to tie it together.

A real missed opportunity… womp womp.

EVENT CREATORS

Once again, the Event Creators delivered a jam-packed month for Habbo players, with a consistent schedule of events and a healthy mix of both RNG-based and skill-based activities. The variety on offer kept things feeling fresh and accessible, ensuring there was something for everyone throughout the month.

The events programme has truly become the backbone of Habbo Origins, and it’s an area that absolutely needed attention, which it is finally receiving. Hats off to the Event Creators not only for the effort they put into making this work, but also for the sheer amount of time they willingly sacrifice to keep the hotel feeling alive and engaging.

ASIA & SHEJI CATALOGUE RELEASES

With the Love section being removed from the catalogue midway through the month, the arrival of the Asia and Sheji ranges marked the next shift in the hotel. Many Habbo players genuinely enjoy both lines, and I can appreciate why.

That said, Asia has never really been a furni line I personally connect with, and for that reason, Sheji didn’t quite land for me either. Art is subjective, of course, and my comments aren’t intended to disrespect what Goob has created. I can absolutely recognise the artistry and design quality behind the furniture, it just isn’t something I’d personally purchase.

Clearly, though, it resonated with a large portion of the community, and that alone speaks to its success.

BILL AND BEN NPC BOTS

Bill and Ben quietly appeared in the Picnic Garden this month as non-functional bots, which immediately sparked curiosity. These were the bots set to handle placing your “plant” furni into bags for selling and trading, an important mechanic and yet their introduction felt oddly understated.

This really should have warranted its own dedicated article. For something tied so closely to trading, furni circulation, and future gameplay systems, dropping it in without proper explanation or spotlight felt like another missed opportunity to build hype and clarity.

With upcoming gardening-related features already known to be on the horizon, such as sprinklers then it would have made a lot of sense to align this rollout more strategically. Launching this system in March, assuming sprinklers aren’t far behind, could have allowed everything to feel more cohesive rather than fragmented.

For reference, Bill now stocks Sack Trees and Potlines, while Bob offers Sacked Bushes and Pot Bushes. The functionality itself is solid and useful, but the way it was introduced lacked the excitement and structure that a feature of this scale really deserved.

INFOSTAND SURPRISE DROP

Well, today was a nice little treat! Users logged in to a notification thanking them for being part of origins for a further year and gifted users some new infostands and name plates. Really nice that this side is being utilised a little more, although I do think it probably should have come earlier than the last working day of the month!

ARTICLES

As I mentioned last month, the Origins team absolutely knocked it out of the park with their articles. Everything important had its own dedicated post, and that matters, every ping is engagement, and engagement is something the hotel should always be striving for.

This month, however… meh. Seventeen articles across the entire month feels surprisingly low, and I genuinely don’t know what changed. The overall output just felt a bit low-effort in comparison. I don’t want to come across as overly harsh, but when you’re coming off a strong January and heading into February with both the Love campaign and the Asia theme, expectations are naturally higher.

Especially with a mid-month switch-up into Chinese New Year content, you would have expected a stronger push in terms of articles and overall buzz to help fill out the second half of the month. Instead, very little arrived to support it.

Outside of the furni releases, there was hardly anything to signal that Chinese New Year was a focus within the hotel, which made the transition feel quiet and underdeveloped rather than celebratory.

CONCLUSION AND FINAL SCORE

Overall, February was a month of mixed execution. When Habbo Origins got things right, it really got them right which include the SUPERLOVE Gala, the Event Creators’ relentless consistency, meaningful trading updates, and moments of genuine community engagement all showed just how strong the foundation of Origins has become. The hotel feels alive largely because of its players and the systems that encourage interaction, and that deserves recognition.

However, this month was also defined by missed opportunities. Chinese New Year lacked the visibility and creative push it deserved, competitions were inconsistent in quality and transparency, and several features that warranted proper build-up were instead quietly dropped. Coming off such a strong January, February felt uneven, good ideas, solid content, but not always delivered with the care, clarity, or hype they merited.

There’s nothing here that’s unfixable, and that’s the encouraging part. With stronger communication, better competition handling, and more consistent article output, months like this could easily shift from “fine” to “fantastic.”

It really feels like Habbo Origins is leaning into a more trend-driven style of gameplay at this point, with systems such as fishing, planting, Market Stalls, and even guest-room fishing shaping how players interact with the hotel. That’s not a bad thing—but it does come with responsibility.

I’d love to see the Community Challenges section used more actively to ensure these features remain relevant. Encouraging the use of fish rooms, public fishing holes, and gardening mechanics would help prevent them from becoming “dead” or forgotten functions from one month to the next.

I’d also be keen to see a dedicated Marketplace event introduced. For example, having limited windows where players can rent a stall for a reduced cost, perhaps 1 Habloon at specific times of day could drive real traffic into Infobus Park and give the trading scene a noticeable boost.

Ultimately, these new activities shouldn’t just be temporary trends. If they’re going to be introduced into Origins, they need to be consistently supported and woven into ongoing gameplay. These systems are becoming core to the game and keeping them actively utilised is key to their long-term success.

Final Score: 5.7 / 10

A sub-par month with clear highlights, but also clear areas where Habbo Origins needs to do better.

This month was a lesson in: more furni does not equal more fun. Super boring month, with only 2 comps, one of which had incredibly flawed results, and 0 interaction with any sort of events/campaign for the Lunar New Year half of the month

The only saving grace this month were EC Events, which were spectacular.
