St Patrick's Day in Habbo Hotel

Top 'o the mornin to ya! Your favourite Irish Habbo checking in with some history! Because every year around mid-March, Habbo Hotels across the world quietly turn a little greener.

Not in the big, campaign-heavy way we see at Halloween or Christmas - but just enough to remind everyone that St Patrick's Day has rolled around again. It's never been one of the headliner celebrations, but over the years it's still managed to carve out it's own little tradition in the hotel's history.

2008 - Green Iced and Pub Building

One of the earliest documented St Patrick's Day celebrations came in 2008.

That year, the staff encouraged players to build pubs, taverns and inns using the Green Iced Furni range, turning the navigator into an sea of Irish-themed rooms. Hey - not much changes, right? Players were invited to show off their builds in a St Patrick's Day competition, with coin prizes awarded to the best taverns.

It was a simple celebration, but it captured something very Habbo: players creating the festivities for themselves.

2010 - The Gigantic Beanstalk

In March 2010, Habbo released one of the most unusual rares tied to the holiday. The GIGANTIC BEANSTALK appeared in the catalogue on March 15th for 25 credits.

At the time it was notable for being one of the largest furni items ever introduced, growing from a small patch of mud into a towering beanstalk.

To accompany the release, Habbo ran two themed competitions:

- A room-building challenge asking players to create a room 'fit for a leprechaun'
- A story-writing competition, centred around a mydsterious leprechaun climbing the beanstalk

It was one of the few times the holiday had a small narrative event attached to it.

2015 - The St Patrick's Day Bundle

A few years later, the holiday returned to the catalogue with the St Patrick's Day bundle during the Neo-Habbo era.

Released on March 12th 2015, the bundle contained 43 items, largely drawn from the countryside-themed furni lines - including grass patches, wooden dividers, treasure chests, Irish flags and a special leprechaun box.

The Leprechaun Box could spawn a small leprechaun pet - giving players a playful nod to Irish folklore, and their own little munchkin to raise.

2025 - An Original Origins St Patrick's Day

When Habbo Origins launched in 2024, it set out with the intention to create the feel of the early days of Habbo Hotel.

So it's fitting that St Patrick's Day returned in a similarly understated way.

Last year, players were treated to a special Irish-themed version of the Dirty Duck pub - one of the most iconic rooms in Habbo History. The redecorated public room served as a gathering spot for players during the special day, and showcased a tease of new furni - the four leaf clover.

Origins also celebrated with a room build competition, with finalists scoring themselves a four leaf clover badge. (Yes, me included LOL).

2026 - What's in Store?

And that brings us to today.

At the time of writing, Habbo Origins residents are still waiting to see what todays rare might bring - and whether there will be any other St Patrick's themed surprises in store.

If history is anything to go by - we should probably set expectations for something small. Personally, I'd love to see the Irish pub return!

And speaking of today - I'll be hosting Testing Facility A tonight at 8:00pm Habbo Time. Just search MatthewEC.

Full disclosure: it completely slipped my mind to theme it around St Patrick's Day.

But that's easily fixed. Make sure to wear something green! You never know - a little Irish luck might be exactly what you need.

What other St Patrick's events in Habbo can you remember celebrating? Tell us in the comments!
